A Look at the 2023 Summit League Cross Country Coaches' Poll
The South Dakota State University women and North Dakota State University men and women have been picked to win the 2024 Summit League cross country championships, according to the league's annual preseason coaches' poll.
SDSU's women received seven first-place votes and 94 points to top the poll. NDSU was second with 85 points and two first-place votes, while Denver was third with 78 points.
The Jackrabbit women have won the last three Summit League cross country championships and have finished in the top three at the NCAA Championships each of the last four years.
- They return four of their top five runners from last year's team, including All-American Macy Marquardt.
- Marquardt finished ninth at the NCAA Championships last year and was named the Summit League Cross Country Athlete of the Year.
NDSU's men received six first-place votes and 95 points to edge out SDSU, which had 89 points and three first-place votes.
- The Bison men have won the last two Summit League cross country championships and have finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships each of the last three years.
- They return four of their top five runners from last year's team, including All-American Jacob Rodin.
Rodin finished 14th at the NCAA Championships last year and was named the Summit League Cross Country Athlete of the Year.
The Summit League cross country championships will be held on Oct. 28, 2024, in Fargo, N.D.
