Heat Crush Celtics in Game 7, Advance to Finals
Miami's Dominant Performance Ends Boston's Cinderella Run
Highlights and Analysis
The Miami Heat put on a clinic in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, crushing the Boston Celtics 103-84 to advance to the NBA Finals. The Heat dominated from start to finish, leading by as many as 26 points in the second half.
Jimmy Butler led the way for Miami with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Bam Adebayo added 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Kyle Lowery chipped in 15 points and 8 assists.
The Celtics, who were making their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2018, were led by Jayson Tatum's 24 points. However, Tatum struggled with his shot, making just 8 of 23 attempts from the field.
The Heat's victory was their second in a row over the Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. They will now face the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, which begin on June 1.
The Celtics' loss ends their magical run through the playoffs. After finishing the regular season as the seventh seed in the East, they upset the second-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the first round, the third-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the second round, and the top-seeded Heat in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
However, the Celtics' Cinderella run came to an end in Game 7 against the Heat. Miami was simply too much for Boston to handle, and they will now face the Nuggets in the NBA Finals.
